:D They look quality - what material? Nylon, ASA, or ABS I hope. PLA & PETG get all slouchy in sunlight over time.

Pass… Mark can advise…he did offer an unconditional, unlimited warranty

He’s in Scotland. You ought to explain what this sunlight thing is.

The material used here is PLA from a high quality brand (REAL), same as I have used for the dashcam holders in my cars. In one of the cars, the dashcam holders are in there for almost three years without any issues or visible deterioration. The matt black color gives it a really nice finish; I also print PETG but for that material I haven't found a matt black filament; only glossy or semi-matt. Depending on the application, I use either PLA or PETG.

About UV resistance: PLA is known to be not UV resistance indeed. However, the degradation process is slow (takes many years; the time for PLA to fully decompose is at least 80 years) and affects just the outer layer of the part. What you may experience is some discoloration, but that is not something to worry about for a black pigmented filament. Also, these dashcam holders are not exposed to UV all the time, as the roof is not open 24/7.
About PETG: that material has excellent UV resistance and is fully suitable for outdoor use. I have designed my own cat proof fence and printed this from PETG, which is exposed to UV and rain all the time.

Absolutely! You have my phone number, so if you experience any issues (even after years) you can contact me and I will get you a new adapter :)

I was wondering whether to spray the chosen adapter before mounting ?

Where it’s tucked in it’s not going to see any UV for any great period of time…even with the roof down…

If I could ensure the roof didn’t malfunction in 80 years I’d be much happier….

Very pleased with the neatest..think I’ll be back for more 3D printing

PLA matte is a cool filament... I've just recently begun printing in ASA which is a plastic already heavily used in the BMW Z4 and a lot of the automotive industry. I don't think i've seen the equivalent finish that you achieved in pla though. Nice work!

Spray painting can give some extra UV protection, but I haven't done that to mine.

In 1 or 2 weeks time I will remove the hardtop of my E85 and will post some photos of my dashcam holders.
