Antifreeze/coolant change

I plan to change the coolant on my car soon, the local BMW parts department told me over the phone that they only supply the coolant ready mixed in 1 litre bottles, but I'm guessing they're mistaken and it's concentrated. Has anyone either changed the coolant or got some to top up with and can tell me the correct part number and if it is concentrated or pre-mixed to save me the hassle of trying to get the correct information out of BMW?

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't pre mixed. The stuff I bought for the Mrs car was pre mixed.

I previously bought this from BMW

I can't recall the volume but im fairly sure I bought 2 of those which made up 6 litres, and with that bottle now full with 1.5mixed I think that means I put in 4.5 litres.

Fairly sure I got deionised water for it, couldn't get hold of distilled.

You can used battery water from Halfords only a couple of quid.

Isnt that just deionised water?

Distilled vs deionised is really not worth the hassle, in fact deionised can exceed the purity of distilled however both are completely safe to use in your cooling system, your not going to see any benefit one over the other.
