There are many incidents in my area where a lot of Mini Clubman have been stolen. There are rumors that generally the factory alarm that comes to all the BMW cars is more vulnerable than other firms. A colleague has had his mini being stolen 2 days ago in a matter of 10 min. (He went into his house to grab smthing and he went out to find his car nowhere).
As a result I am a bit worried. Hope this clarifies my first post and the whole situation

Of course - I'm sure members will happily quote options that are available to fit on Zeds, but in reality they are no different to any other car on the road for aftermarket options.
On thing you can do on BMW's is to relocate the OBD2 port. That will prevent the common current thefts that involve connecting to it.
