Hi guys, a question for someone with knowledge.

I want to eliminate the bit if body roll I have, I have a 3 point strut brace coming and have thought about changing the aniti roll bars.

Am sure iv read the M3 ones fit, is this right and am I right to say these are a lot stiffer them the standard z4 ones?

Help needed :)

I have fitted an M3 ARB to my car with powerflex ARB bushes. And yes i found it made for a very positive improvement.

Its an easy DIY job as well and relatively cheap.

Only the front fits the rear dose not. Some people will also say not to stiffen one without the other.

But i have found it to be a nice mod.

If you can get hold of an M3 csl front arb (hens teeth i know!) they're even thicker than the regular M3 ones. 30.5mm vs 27mm i think.

E46 will fit, but you want a covertibke one as its thicker than the coupe.

Was just about to say that.

While I'm in this thread...

People who have coilovers, have you used shortened droplinks?

Not with mine, although they are very close the control arms now,

I'll be using Hyundai coupe droplinks I think, they work on the e46 and are much stronger.
I think I'd snap standard droplinks

So an E46 M3 ARB will fit a 3.0Si but one from a Z4M wont is that correct. I have fitted an Ultra Racing rear but they don't do a front. thanks Ed

Thicker ARBs often improve the 'feel', but make your suspension less independent - not good from a performance perspective, although I do see the appeal.

If you have adjustable dampers, a thicker ARB will allow you to soften up the shocks a touch too.

bringing back up and old thread

What is the standard front ARB diameter on my 3.0i Zed?

And what diameter are the M3 Front ARB's? Convertible/ Non Convertible

Anyone got an E46 M3 Front ARB fiitted and noticed a big improvement with a standard rear ARB?

Thanks

Ash

Hi ash no idea on the numbers.. I can measure mine if you like.

I did notice a difference. But i did a lot of other bits at the same time. So i would find it hard to say what difference it made by its self. I would say if you can get one cheap. Then why not your ARB bushes are probably knackered anyway.

I have Poly Bushes already Mat,

If you could measure yours that would be great, its been lowered now with new shocks and springs so im thinking new ARB's and a struct brace are next to do on the handling list.

Are the Metal Bush holders the same on the M3 then?

Z4M rollbars do not fit, they are a different shape. One option is the H&R set specific for Z4. They are 27mm/21 front/rear in the rear versus 24/18 (25/19 with m-sport suspension). The H&R are also adjustable (3 way up front, 2 way rear), so you can tune how you want them to behave. I believe UUC, groundcontrol and AC Schnitzer also make bars, but they are more expensive.

Some M3 front anti-rollbars seem to fit but I have seen rubbing issues on a friends Z4. It also made the car feel unbalanced.
