Anti head-bobbing device

Hi all

I have today taken delivery of my anti head-bobbing device from Zeckhausen Racing US (that's a clutch delay valve to you and me) and it's now install time!

After taking 6 hours on Sunday to get an Intravee installed correctly, I have come to the conclusion that car DIY is "not really my bag" so I am taking the easy option of getting a garage to install the new CDV for me.

Question is, can any of you good folk recommend a garage that has done this for you? I live in london so somewhere down this way would be good, although if you know somewhere that involves a B-road blast then hey I can put up with that :) So, anyone on this side of the pond had this CDV done? Where? How much? Was it a big improvement? Read the messages on the forum and that is what convinced me to place an order with the lovely people of Zeckhausen. Arrived in about 5 days (probably got stuck in UK customs for 4 days!)

Can't help you with a recommendation I'm afraid but please let me know how you get on with this as I may be tempted to follow suit. :D

Don't know about the CDV - but I can recommend 'Torque of the Devil' in Uxbridge. Chris Todd is a great guy, really knows his stuff - and you could stick the car on the rollers at the same time if you fancied ;)

Me too. What are the down sides of the mod - quicker wear-n-tear or similar?

From what I have read (mainly on this forum actually) it sounds like the CDV was originally installed to prevent damage or wear to the drive train / transmission caused by poor driving and clutch control (which happens to be covered by BMW warranty). The side effect of having the CDV in place is that it may wear out your clutch more quickly (coincidentally that is not covered by the BMW warranty).

Not many replies from UK folk that have had the CDV mod fitted but I am going ahead and will try and find somewhere not too far from where I live (SW london). Will post back how I get on but would still be interested to hear from anyone in UK that has had the modified CDV fitted...
