Anstruther Sunday 20th Feb.

I can confirm Kirsty and I will be coming on Sunday. Should be able to meet up at the meeting point around 12.

I will warn you I'm waiting on a new alarm tilt sensor being fitted next Friday (for free under AUC) so if an alarm keeps on going off when we park, I apologise!

Went with EBC redstuff pads and the turbo grooved and vented discs. Had 4 Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas fitted today (bought from tyremen) - had I known about the local ex BMW chap 2 minutes walk from my house who seemed really knowledgeable I would have had him fit them today but already given the job to another local guy - I know it's not a huge job to do but new biz is hectic - not really tried the new tyres yet - though did manage to slide back end out round the first roundabout - oops well they were brand new and the road surface was greasy . . .hope to catch up on Sunday all going well.

Ok we are going to try and make this for a short while.... Nosa I'll text you either way around 12:30 ish.

No zed though so if you get flashed by this or see it trying to park on the front it is us....

I'm looking forward to this now - hope we get some good weather so I can get the top down! Drove home about 10pm tonight with the top down - was lovely apart from some neds aiming a green laserpen at me as I went round a roundabout

Unfortunately not going to able to make it today

Would definitely like to get out for a run soon though :driving:

Just back from holiday and noticed this - too late I'm afraid. :(

I should have been checking the forum while I was away.

Well i can confirm that the Anstruther run (otherwise known as "Nosa's New Wheel Appreciation Society") was a pleasant but cold and windy event. Tasty fish 'n' chips :D

Hope everyone made it home safely. I know there was some chat about a run possibly to the Rest and Be Thankful and beyond before the Skye run. Seeing as it's my neck of the woods, I'm happy to take the mantle and try to organise something if others are happy. Will post something later this week.

Was indeed a good wee run, First proper blast in the car since November. And an Ideal op to test out the new rims and tyres,
Can confirm a 100% improvement in both road handling and ride comfort on the Falkens, even though there was only 30 miles on them before the run they still handled and gripped brilliantly over the RFT's. One very happy camper. Was loving all the Admiration including the Urine extraction from Mrs RichardG :P

Had a game of keepy up with a Ford GTO on the A92 on the way back, Jaxz4 tailed me all the way to the A92 but don't think he was interested in playing with us as I never saw him again. At one point the GTO and my self had the road to ourselves for about a 2 miles, it got a bit naughty and he bottled it before I did, not particularily proud of the speed I reached  But I think the GTO driver may have a new appreciation for the ZZZZ. 8) 8)

RichardG and I followed each other down to the M8, and on to the M74 where we cut off for Hamilton and he kept on going. At one point I had an old Civic Type R behind me who liked making his presence known, but no other antics!

Good photos. apart from I always seem to be pulling a face of some sorts...

Just a bit fecking colder than the last time we stopped in Anstruther for fish and chips :D

Nosa's wheels = :)
a11y's (winter) wheels = :(

Fish was awesome. I decided to take the coast route home after you lot took that was last time, was just nice to see there ARE actually nice parts of Fife. I also had a bit of fun on the A92, but with a bright green Focus RS. Sat on my arse off the roundabout at Kirkcaldy from rest up to 70mph easily before a Pug pulled out in front of me. I reckon I'd not see what way he'd go on an A road though. Got home safe with Jo sleeping in the passenger seat, so my driving can't be that erratic :D

Jimmy - bring on the RABT meet! It's a route I've done many times before so don't hesitate to ask for ideas. Oban is a nice distance for a day trip, allowing time for the obligatory chat stops and fish and chips in Oban :)

(got some photos from today but mostly of the sea breaching the sea wall and haven't unloaded the camera anyway yet)

looks like a good day out  Bit disappointed by the number of coupe wannabes  I assume that was just while they were parked

Maybe living in Scotland wouldn't be so bad :poke:

Back safe and sound, great to meet everyone again and meet a new face.

See you all in Skye

Are you planning on moving north of the border?

A11y - I'll get on to it and hopefully have the route planned for later in the week!

No plans but you know what training is like these days! CT2 in Winchester from August for the year, then who knows....since they uncoupled anaesthetic training I could end up anywhere!

It's not much fun. I'm just so thankful I got run through last year - there are only 5 general surgery ST3 run through posts in Scotland this year!

I suppose it does give you a chance to go exploring. I've got a friend who is a CT2 anaesthetics at the moment who is off to Australia for a couple of years.

Lucky you knowing where you're working next year- no idea when I find out!

Great to cath up today - fish and chips and chat were exellent. Good to meet a new face but -sorry Alzay we didn't get much time to chat or do the group drive thing.

Nosa - I couldn't be sure that was a Ford GT - though Mrs jax initially thought so - clearly you got a better look and from infront- we got stuck behind a more modest Ford on motorway so couldn't catch you - not far behind cos we did see you at top of the off ramp where you were heading home I guess - yes some biggish / naughty velocity numbers - especially on brand new tyres - pleased to say mine performed much better on way home than first thing in the morning - think they are scrubbed off nicely now. Ride iw way better than RFTs and tramlining seems to have dissapeared - I just hope grip from Vredesteins is as good as nicely run in Bridgestones - I'm sure it will be now that they've done almost 200 miles.

Well up for trip up the RABT - know it pretty well -we had a trip up there and across to Dunoon, where roads were empty, last summer - Oban is lovely too and some fab scenerey - used to do some biz there and back in the day so well do able. Good to get top down albeit briefly too.
