Been looking at e92 M3s for a while and although they have more space and comfort the z4m is hard to beat for sheer value, performance and the wow factor looks. So I just renewed the insurance and tax is due next week so the m3 will have to wait. There was also the issue of extra cost,so that money may now be spent on a few upgrades and maybe a harley v rod. Happy days indeed!!

Have you driven an E9x M3 ?I was going to buy one when i sold the Jaguar XK..

Boring!!.......

Went M5....Now back in my Z4MC,you cant deny how good they are...lol..

Good for you OP. Always contemplating myself what would be next and the e9X M3 is seems like the natural move.....however as Z4M-2006 points out they could be boring territory, for me its the interior as its not different enough to a normal e90. the m5 e60 is a different story

You buy an M3 because you need a car and want a fast car. You buy a Z4M because it's special and happens to be pretty nippy to boot.

One of my dilema's too...I loved my 4 years of E46 M3 ownership and feel the E92 is a natural progression for me next however,,,,a recent house move has reset the financial priority list and I can't help thinking the Z is good value bang for buck given I bought it cheap enough and it's only a toy that's on the road six months of the year....sit tight, gut feel tells me this will become an appreciating ///M car in time,,,,,,,,,

i think you are right about the appreciating m 's as they get older, they are still very rare on the road, which has to help, as will the fact that everything else has gone the turbo route.

yes I tested some a few weeks back, the one I really liked was a white one with sunroof and dct box, really smooth drive with it but the thought of hydraulic pumps, solenoid valves, two electric clutches and a separate ecu system just to do what your arm and leg does seemed total overkill plus the fact the guy wanted upwards of £12k plus my car made me realise its a no-no.
