Another "Will These Fit?" thread

I know 17"s on a US 35i are too small for the discs, but I've seen a French Youtube review of the 35i with the 17" wheels....

Any chance the lug pattern on these is good to go? Are the wheels too wide?

I'm wanting tyres as wide as will fit without rubbing on full suspension travel/steering lock, and higher profile rubber than is usual for the 17"s. So 245 or 255/50 17 front and 275 or 285/45 17 rear.

Go on, shoot down my hopes and dreams. :headbang:

In flames mate  17,s should fit all 3.5's but you need bolt patter 5 x 120 then a target offset from 25 /40 ideally for E89

Is Mr Wilks the forum wheel expert? Seems to be

I am no "expert" Graham but i have had a good number of sets ( 70/80 :o ) through my hands in the last 18 months which has broadened my knowledge base somewhat

I run 17" bwm oem wheels on a 35i 2009 as you can see in my profile pic

How do you find the car on these wheels Brasseye? I'm guessing the ride is very forgiving even with runflats; I'd be switching to non-runflats for as much yield as physics allow.

How wide are they front/rear?

225 front and 255 rears on 17 with runflats just fitted conti sports 2 runflats bmw star ratedand the tram lining has gone drive is much better.

Thanks. Is a 3cm difference between front and rear better than a 2cm difference? I want fronts as wide as possible for skimming over potholes and for looking cool when parked with the wheels hard over (got my priorities in order lol). Wider rears are almost a luxury.

I've found these which seem to match a lot of the needed criteria; 5x120, ET35 offset which is within the limits described by mr wilks. I'm not sure if they weigh more than the moon but weight whilst important is secondary to a high tyre profile for comfort surely?

They're a bit cheap for comfort, pun not intended... Will they fit though?

Hi,]

Since the winter is coming, and I believe my alloys of my E92 are out at the front - but i am no expert.

Z4 Orginal
Front alloy wheels: 18x8" ET29
Rear alloy wheels: 18x8.5" ET40

E92 Winter Alloys
18 x 8.0" ET34

I understand that:
Front: Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 5mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 5mm less than before. So I need an 5MM spacer?
Rear: Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 12.4mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 0.3mm less than before. no issues?
