Just found that if you go to the MOT history check site:
https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/
There is now a section that says 'Outstanding vehicle recalls' and low and behold it's showing the latest one for the Z ...
I'm assuming that once the work has been done BMW automagically tell the DVSA who mark that the recall is no longer outstanding for you as it says 'If you've had the recalled component repaired recently, it can take up to three weeks for the manufacturer to update their records.' ...
Anyway - just thought folks might like to know this if they didn't already
