Another Water Thread!

Ok so the last few morning i've got into the Z to come to work and heard water sloshing in what appears to be the passenger door! ive had a look at all the carpets are bone dry? any ideas?
 
That will be in the sills I would guess. Worrying is that is the side where the roof motor is as well, check the bung in front of the rear wheel as you may need to pull it out to get the water out.

hmm it sounds like its coming from the front passenger side! could that still get to the roof motor? where abouts is this "bung"?
 
Have a look for one of the threads about clearing the drains, there will be pictures in there.

ah so if the rear roof drains are blocked this can cause water to build up? i've just thought however that this week i've had my passenger side wing mirror removed for repairs and the area has been taped up. the tape looks secure but wonder if water has got down behind the door card?
 
The sills run from front to rear, so the water would slosh at the front when you brake for example.

Obviously, if you have water in the door through the mirror, you might hear the same in the door. But even when stationary, opening and closing the door you would hear the same noise though.

hmm time to look at the roof drains me thinks! do i have to jack the car up on the passenger side?

hmm so my understanding of the passenger side is that there is a cover in the wheel arch that has to be removed then there is the plug that i need to pull out and then use something to clean the tube with?
 
You don't need to remove that cover, the plug is visible without removing the cover.

If it is full of water, it would just run out as soon as you remove the plug anyway.

ah right i see! hopefully this will solve it! the last thing i need is a nakered roof motor!
 
Hmmm well ive had a look in the arch and can't find the drain plug! I'll have to get the panel off somehow. I have been wondering if the sloshing I've been hearing could actually be the fuel? The level has been very low!? Unsure if I would be able to hear this from the passenger side?
 
Rock the car when stationary - if it is fuel you would hear it again.

i've bloody filled up now! cant seem to hear anything! although i did give it a good rock before filling and couldn't hear anything either! very strange!
 
But do you still hear slushing when driving now? Another way to eliminate the fuel :)

its very strange, i've heard it for sure twice, both times have been when i set off for work in the morning! and then i don't hear it again! unsure if its been because the nose of the car has been pointing up a hill and the fuel has been very low 30 miles on the trip
 
hmm so i definitely have a water sloshing sound coming from what sounds like the passenger footwell! the footwell itself is bone dry!
