Another Tyre question - sorry!

I've owned my 2003 Silver 2.5 SE Auto Roadster for almost 4 years and am about to change it for a 2008 Monaco Blue 3.0si Sport Manual - roll-on Friday!! My old car has 17" Turbines (106) and, of course, came with OEM Bridgestones. I replaced the rears when they wore out with Conti C2 SSR run-flats and I am sure that it really improved the rear-end ride and stability, but never got round to replacing the fronts as there was still tread on them.
So, alas as I'll now going be back to Bridgestones on 18" (108) and as the new car has done 16,000, I'll be looking to replace them soon. From the point of view of convenience, I'll stick with RFTs. I hear that Pirelli PZero Run Flat and Michelin Pilot Sport2 ZP are both superior to the OEM tyres. Has anyone got a preference? and has anyone any experience with the Contis?

Ive only tried the michelins and Ive had them now for 18 months+ Still love them - so so much better than the standard bridgestones  Ride comfort improved and crashiness simply disappeared :D

I say go for the Pirelli then let us know how they are.....

what's the difference in price? I know the Michelin's are pricy...

And congrats on the new car

oh and welcome to the forum :D

I have Pirellis euforia, bought the car with finished Bridgestones but did not have a drivers licence yet - cant make an accurate comaprison. As for the pirellis, I have 17" and if you want your ass to experience prehistorical times then go ahead and buy them :D The ride is not comfortable compared to other sportcars - might be beacause of a combination of the tire itself and also the fact that here in CZ we have crap and corrupt policitics resulting in the most expensive yet the worst roads probably in the whole EU (not counting Romania and Ukraine etc...) :D You dont even have to hold the wheel when in the slow lane on the highway, the car tramlines the whole destination by itself :)

Thanks for your reply, Gannet

Pirellis are about 20% cheaper than Michelin, but cost is less important than performance - grip and ride comfort!

I'll take your recommendation and get the Michelins
