Absolutely, always willing to take passengers out, although car will probably locked up for the next year unless I can convince a mate to tow it down :)

The single-pot calipers with floating rotors on the Z4M are significantly better than the 6-pot calipers on the front of the 135i, they can take the heat better. Our 135i, although about 100kg heavier than our Z4M, doesn't have the sustained braking capability of the Z4M. There have been some reports of the pistons cracking on the 135i calipers after sustained track use with aftermarket pads.

The major difference between a 6-pot and single-pot caliper is evenness of clamping force along the pad length and firmer pedal feel (due to the caliper not floating). Both can be engineered to give the same clamping force (the same in both cases if the total piston area is the same) and the same pad size, hence the same braking performance.

Upgrading the Z4M brakes requires going to larger aftermarket rotors and calipers under 19" wheels.

really nice constructive argument their, very well put, after reasearching these calipers i agree they arnt the upgrade id hoped for which means i will have to turbo to a proper AP 6pot fr 4pot Rear setup, luckily i already have the car sat on genuine 19" CSLs, i have to say the stock brakes feel great for light work, once used in anger reguarly they grumble and moan significantly, ill keep my eyes out for a set of used APs or brembo, i refuse to buy them new at that cost, i have to say after researching K-sport im reading fab things about their kits, also for a COMPLETE 6pot 4pot rear with everythink i need including pads, bells, calipers, discs, pads retail @ a frankly unbelievable £980, is this a case of too good to be true?
 
Be careful... Might be a case of you get whet you pay for...

I had a set of K-Sport coilovers on a previous car (Skyline), I bought them because of the competitive price compared to others. I soon realised why they were cheaper, didn't rate them, they were on the car for 3 months whilst I struggled to get them to work as they should, couldn't despite getting various suspension specialists on the case so sold them.

Can't comment on their BBK's but I wouldn't go there again!

I opted for Stoptech BBK for my Z4MC and whilst expensive are brilliant.

Many as you know have AP's and are happy with them too... Don't take a chance when it comes to brakes is my advice.

I'm still looking for a Z4M Roadster, but everytime I see photos like this I have to phsically restrain myself from looking through the coupes on the classifieds.

18's and car lowered on Eibachs.

I haven't tested them on a track day yet, but have given them repeated what for on the roads and they take it all in their stride... No grumbles, overheating or fade, just immense almost violent retardation.

Am currently running Stoptech's own fast road/track pad which came with the kit, but have Pagid RS29's for next years on-slought of track days.

The kit was developed with track days in mind so am certain they will really come into their own in that environment.

My old set up before I parted everything out. They were impressive on the track but not sure I`d go down that route again (current retail is £6400 for the front and rears). I find my stock brakes fine, haven`t done any brake heavy tracks yet (am at Oulton Park on the 2nd Nov and might get to Knockhill this Sat) but had no fade or overheating at SPA or the Ring.

Stoptech's are more expensive than AP... I bought mine from Balance Motorsport in West Sussex - Speak to Julian he did me a good deal for the full kit and the customer service from him was great. Rare these days!

You could probably get away with 4 pots on the front but for small cost difference I went all out and got 6 pots.

I researched long and hard before deciding which BBK to buy... Check out Stoptechs website I believe them to be genuine alternative to AP, losing nothing in quality, performance or success on track.

Brembo is also very good but way too expensive and I don't believe to be significantly better than Stoptech or AP, certainly not to jusitfy the extra money.
 
Nice setup, my cars due back at simpson soon, i will definatly be looking at their options, i need 6pot fr 4 pots rear. I dont no if anyones seen thorneys trophy cup from the m3 racers, wow thats a serious setup. I'll dig out some pics.
