As far as I remember from the highway code if going round a roundabout and leaving on the third exit you should be in the right lane until you are exiting and can then use either lane.
You should not switch lanes half way round a roundabout.

so let's have a look at some recommendations..
Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake. In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions, you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake. -
That was written in reference to motorway driving.

If taking third exit, approach the roundabout in the right lane indicating right, enter roundabout, after going past second exit indicate left and get over to the left lane, as you exit the roundabout there is no need to be in the right lane unless you approach something slower in the left lane.![]()

This is loose enough for a traffic cop to book you for driving without due care and attention should he be short of hits that day. Generally, I avoid doing so unless everyone is moving slowly and then with great caution, trying to make sure the overtaken vehicle is aware of my presence.
• only overtake on the left if the vehicle in front is signalling to turn right, and there is room to do so
• stay in your lane if traffic is moving slowly in queues. If the queue on your right is moving more slowly than you are, you may pass on the left.
Good enough for me, he's in the RH lane, turning right [eventually] - pass in the LH lane.![]()
I was going to post something similar to this.
The other guy was still indicating right when he pulled to the left and exited the roundabout - he's an idiot of that there can be no doubt!

AndyBeech said:Maybe so, but if I'm at a junction waiting to come out and your indicating to turn into the junction I'm coming out of and I pull out and you go straight on into me instead of turning, it would be my fault. Indicators should never be taken as an absolute intention. The OP undertook, if in doubt you hang back, the OP would certainly be at fault in the eyes of the law. He didn't spear in front of the OP, he just took the outside lane, not ideal, but not as bad as purposely undertaking. Not preaching, just better hanging back IMHO
