Well, I finally did the contortionist bit and relocated the roof pump/motor. After many attempts, frequent backache and even more frequent swearing I removed the unit and revived the motor. Fluid topped-up and reconnected I was ready to test...... yes!!!! It worked.
But then it slowed down and the pump started groaning. Reaching down into the hole of doom I discovered hydraulic fluid - seems I have damaged one of the lines.
My question to anyone "in the know" is...... must I now remove the entire roof assembly or is it possible to just raise the rear of the roof (and would this allow sufficient access to replace the hydraulic hose)?
Feeling rather despondent and very annoyed at myself right now. Would appreciate some useful input.
