Another servicing question!

Hi all,

I'm after some opinions on what my next service should be. I got my 2007 AUC Z4MR in June.

The service history is a bit odd and looks like this:

July 2007: Running in check @ 1288 miles
Jan 2011: Oil/Brake/Micro filter @ 10233 miles
May 2012: Oil/Brake/Micro filter @ 19063 miles
May 2012: Approved used car check stamp
March 2013: Approved used car check stamp

So I'm thinking a brake and oil service in May would be a good idea as I would like to extend the warranty. The next service showing is an oil service which is due in 12400 miles but I won't do that by May. Should I be thinking of doing an insp 1 or 2 instead?

I look forward to hearing people's thoughts.

It is a bit haphazard, what mileage are you on now?

I'd suggest an ins1 would be due on or before May this year ? If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will put you on the right track :thumbsup:

With regard to the warranty, is it still valid with the time between your RIS, July 2007, and 1st oil change, Jan 2011?
 
Due an inspection one as Darren said. According to what you have written though it went four years until its first service :o
 
Thanks Darren, i'm coming up to 21500 miles.

It's a good question regarding the warranty. I would kinda hope as a AUC, if I maintain the service schedule it would be honoured but it's something to ask when I extend it I guess.
 
I rejected my first ///M after 2 days after finding it had been under serviced by 8 months. A call to the warranty company confirmed they may not pay out. BMW took it back and returned my old car.
 
Thanks guys, thats really helpful. I can only think that the owner at that time was going by the miles indicator until the next service. :roll:

I'll get onto the extended warranty folks. If they aren't going to extend the warranty then that changes things and I'll be looking to get an insp1 at an independent garage.

I heard back from the extended warranty folks and the good news is I can get an extended warranty, the bad news is I have to get an insp2 in May!

That's interesting, which company is that with. I would also ask for it in writing.
