Another roof problem.

When I originally got the car, the roof went up/down really quick. Like literally a couple of seconds. Then it slowed down to about 10-15 seconds and I made a thread. Randomly sped back up and now its dropped again. Sometimes I have to give it a little nudge when I want the roof off too!
That's problem one.

Problem 2 is that when it rains, all the water collects on the bottom on the fabric hood, on the sides that connect to the backside panels. I was told by Jembo that this due to my drains being clogged and I need to empty them. Could it be that the motor is also going ?..

The roof should not completely operate " literally a couple of seconds", though it does appear to cover most of it's travel in that time. I guess it depends on when you you start and stop timing. I believe the time from button press until cycle is fully completed is something like 12 seconds, I haven't personally timed it. Regardless, you should not see variation in time nor should you need to nudge it. While the motor going is the usual culprit, it could be other things, leaking hydraulic fluid, stuck bypass valve, or worn hinge pistons.

Your observed water ponding results in water about a cm deep around the entire bottom edge of the roof? Along the black plastic edging? That's normal. The water will seep through that location and drip into a internal trough below. The trough in turn drains into small tubs on either side. The tubs drain into a tube that releases the water just above the bottom of the car, forward of rear wheels. It is this final tube that gets obstructed, resulting in water collecting in the tubs, one of which also contains the motor.

It is the drain tube you must regularly clear of debris to prevent water collecting. Don't worry about the little moat around the bottom of the hood.
