Another potential ///M coupe replacement?

Looks like they're going to do a Jaguar F-Type Coupe V8.

Trouble is they're all autos :(
And I should imagine they'll want a fair bit of cash for them too.
 
But it's apparently a decent auto-box. For me it's not the same sort of, grab it by the scruff of the neck type sports car like the Z4M so i wouldn't mind it being an auto. Haven't driven one though. Coupe lines look very nice by the way!

Suppose it depends whether you're currently comparing a Z4MC to a Cayman/Cayman S or 911 - as they're at two quite different price points.

The F-Type V8 coupe is likely to be a similar price to the roadster, so about £80k - or about double what the Z4MC cost new. This puts it firmly into the 911 range, not the Cayman range. Even if they make a V6 model it will still be over £60k and it's SLOWER than a Z4MC. You'd need the £70k V6 S model to match/beat the Z4MC.

Can't see it ever being as 'affordable performance' as a Z4MC.
 
Most certainly is coming out. You see it around the factory a fair bit.
To me it's not a competitor for the Z4M or Porsche. But a different sector. Much more of a GT like the Aston. Comparing to the 911 is a clever Jag trick against the best if breed for their first effort in 50 years.

Believe me they are awesome to drive, having driven all variants of the roadster. The 8 speed box is a peach and it'll sell all they make just like the roadster.

I'd still take the roadster though for the roof down experience.

It really appeals as a package but way out of my price range & it's a shame it's a slushbox only, I loved the V8 4.8 in my old x5 but the auto ruined it but its what old people like though! :lol:
 
I'd love one, one of the few cars i think is an upgrade from the z4mc in most ways.. performance, noise, style, comfort

Not sure i agree on all of those grounds. Noise and comfort maybe but not performance unless you get the £90k V8 and not style either.
 
yeah sorry i was talking about the v8. personally id say its much more stylish than a bmw, however much i love my z4mc.
 
I think they could have done a better job of the front, and I wish the V8 had the twin centre exit exhausts like the V6
 
Still not a patch on an M coupe. It looks overweight. If you can afford 90k then stretch a bit further and buy something else. :thumbsdown:
 
You can't also get your golf clubs in the boot - have to put them on the passenger seat. How crap is that!?! I didn't buy a 911 as I could only stick em on the small shelf on the rear seat and was totally put off an E89 as you couldn't stick them in the boot with the roof down. All of course only a problem if you play the hardest game in the world.
 
In reality you'd pay for a z4mc out of the first year depreciation... Second year pays for supercharger and many mods... Looks awesome but I think there maybe better else where...

We don't know that that's true for the coupé yet.
 
Top one is a teaser for the lA reveal. I think the others are old concept shots.

Will be interesting if the glass roof is standard or optional.
