What OIL does the z4 take is it 0-30w fully synthetic?

The handbook quotes that the oil should have one of the following categories on it:
Preferred: BMW Longlife-01
Alternatively: BMW Longlife-98, BMW Longlife or ACEA A3

In practice, this means something like Castrol Edge (Fully Synthetic) in 5w-30. Or if you live somewhere where it regularily drops to -20 or below then a 0w-30.

It's important that it's Fully Synthetic.

As cj10jeeper mentions above, Fully Synth Mobil1 for £19.95 sounds like a bargain, it's over 40quid for 4 litres of Castrol Edge at Halfords and you'll need 6.5 litres to do a full change with a new filter. There's approximately 1 litre between the Min and Max levels on the dipstick.

HTH! I googled for this info whilst stood in Halfords the other day and couldn't find it, so hopefully it'll pop up on Google next time I'm stood in Halfords scratching my head ;)
