Another one tries the look.

I have noticed a couple of guys on here have done this, so I thought I would give it a go. I like it, I think! But I can’t see it looking right on other colours.

Yes Sir, yours was one of the cars that inspired me to do it! I would love to add the AC Schnitzer rear defuser kit that looks fantastic, but have you seen the price!

I think it looks the business  Did you think about doing carbon wrap?

Believe it or not, I had a roll of black sticky back plastic hanging around & just though I would give it a try, half expecting to remove it but it looked great. I may pick up some carbon wrap now & do it again now I like the look. In fact I bet carbon black would look good on other colours as well.

Where does one purchase sticky back plastic or carbon wrap?

Did you take measurements first or just go for it?

I'm hoping I've got names right here....

Ben (Playtastic??), when did you remove the front plate, as I'm sure you had it fitted when we met at the PH thing. Have you had to have the front sprayed or are the rivet holes really small?

Had my front end resprayed so they took the mount off and filled etc before it took any paint. The splitter is actually painted matte black also, not wrapped like the others i've seen so far

Looks really good but you need the allblack grills to complete the 'look' 8)

I'm thinking of having the front and rear redone in CF wrap and might do the roll hoops at the same time.

That's on my list when I get time. I've been advised to buy Helix rather than 3M for exterior wrapping.

Ben when the front end was done, did you see it once the mount was off? Guessing to get a decent look it would need respraying. Not a huge fan of after market paint though.

Didn't see it without the mount but I guess it wasn't pretty. I doubt anybody wants after market paint but if you get it done right and there is absolutely (and I mean absolutely) no discernible difference in colour or finish i.e. orange peel then it isn't an issue.
