Sad times these, seems like every other day or week someone dies.
More so than usual it would seem

Meat Loaf has died, never was a fan as such, but some of his stuff was decent to listen to.
Sad.

I had a phase as a kid of being slightly obsessed with Meat Loaf/Jim Steinman/Bonnie Tyler/Pandoras Box et al. Saw him live a few times. The last time in Manchester in '93 he badly injured his ankle jumping from a grand piano...he still carried on. A true showman. Made a huge impression on me musically in those formative years and which you then carry with you for the rest of your life. Great music, great memories. Sad times. RIP Marvin Lee Aday.

Remember ‘blasting up’ the M5 in the early 80’s, around midnight, TR7 Drophead, roof down, -5c, heater on full, my upgraded stereo with two massive speaker units behind each headrest blasting out Bat out of Hell and Two out of Three Ain’t Bad.

Epic

Rest in Peace Big Man..

Jim Steinman and Meatloaf were one hell of a team..

My mates and I gatecrashed Sheffield city hall in the early 80's to see him, big Harley on stage etc, great gig. Never that much of a fan personally but he was an icon nonetheless wasn't he.

Never was a fan of his music but thought he was great in Fight Club.
RIP Mr Loaf.

I bought Bat Out Of Hell on vinyl soon after it came out and copied it onto a cassette for the car! Loved it so much I bought it on CD when I finally parted with a turntable.

Sad day indeed.

As with any singer they can't always please everyone. We all have different likes dislikes tastes etc. And this crosses many items in our daily lives. I am a Fan of "Meat Loaf" but will admit I don't like or own all of his music. And I guess it comes down to what we are exposed to as kids / young adults etc. I don't care for Opera but I respect it for what it is an those who like it. We lost another talented person and I pray for his family. So for all of us who drive our Zeds after the sun goes down it really is "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights:. RIP Sir

Yeah, he had some great music, as said wasn't a Fan as such, for me he was an artist Iiked some of his stuff, and bought bits and pieces of, like many other bands or singers, if Iiked it I bought it, as opposed to other singers/bands that I was a Fan of, and bought lots of stuff of.
Nonetheless, he was talented, and is another sad loss in the never ending number of deaths these days.
A workmate just lost his cousin at only 24 yrs old, just a little over a weeks go, then on Sunday another workmate died, really nice guy too and only in his 50s.
Seems non stop just now.

Rip Meat Loaf

Rip Toddie (my workmate)

Very true, John.
An icon indeed.
