Another one bites the dust

I think its an M...

The FB group are firmly in the Si group......

The back box thats visible looks like M...
The Facebook group are wrong :D
It's the straight after a roundabout where it turns to national speed limit I think, too eager on the loud pedal

Ouch!

I just hope the driver makes a good recovery - that must have been a pretty heavy impact!

Shame to lose another E86 - I can't decide which model, but given it's on 224s I thinking more likely an M.

In addition to the 224's, you can see it has the carbon dash (assuming it's the real deal), it has an M front bumper too. It has xenon's as well (standard on M, only option on si). Nothing conclusive, but that's why I'm saying M.

Horrible conditions for being out in an M.

Sorry, but I cannot agree with this. Ice and snow - yes - my Zed is super-scary. But a wet road should not create any issues. It's not as thought the ///M's power can't be controlled.

I hope that the guy makes a good recovery. He should be pleased that there were no pedestrians or cyclists between him and what he hit.

Not good to see. Hope they are ok. Definitely looks like an ///M to me. No Air bag deployed. In backwards not a good way to stop quickly. Engine probably fine and I should replace my nav screen one day.

We'll agree to disagree then. Could be anything, poor judgement, oil, diesel, tyres nearing the legal limit or beyond. 340 Hp on a wet road, RWD will catch a lot out if not driven sensibly.

My C class had the front tyres replaced this week. New rubber on the back and 1.6mm left on the front, understeered almost straight on while being a bit eager to get round a roundabout last week. Ordered new tyres that day as in the wet it was a world of difference to how it had been gripping up to that point.

On reflection the road is not as wet as I thought after a second look at the vid.

Yup as has been reported by a fellow Swindonite the sign post is a good 50 yds or so up from the roundabout. I there are three or four coupes local, one belongs to a member of the Dick Lovett service team which is just around the corner. At first I thought it was his car but on closer inspection it isn't.
The FB idiots are of course full of 'know it all' comments. One even suggested in his infinite wisdom that it served him right.
The poor bloke is in hospital seriously injured for God's sake.

Looking at some of the brief video footage, that’s a long set of skid marks over the grass, a heavy impact & car moved a fair way after impact.

They (don’t know if he or she) will have to explain how they were driving with due care & attention for the road conditions, remembering any speed zone is a limit, not a target.

Patch of oil, tyre blow out, man hole cover, clipped a curb or another car (maybe the Mr white van gas man who gave Phil a kiss)... we don’t know... I can only guess they were having a loud pedal tussle & the other driver scarpered - as above, hope they recover well

these cars are really snappy on the limit, lost mine a few times over the years.... luckily never contacted anything over than dented ego!

Wonder how much this'll affect our insurance premiums. All the best to the driver though, mistakes happen and at least no one else seemed to be hurt.
