Evening all.

I've spent the last two months looking for a Z for my wife who fell in love with them when I first brought them to her attention about 5 years ago after taking her to Gaydon.

Anyway, she knew she wanted one and she knew it had to be a 'classy' colour.
With such a poor remit, I set about finding the best spec I could - regardless of engine size or age.
After a few visits it was clear there are a lot of dog-eared examples out there. After upping the budget slightly, facelift cars were on the radar which led to even more dogs being passed off as 'minters' with the promise of 'first to see will buy'. Rubbish.

Anyway, I found a car which would likely fit the bill and last Saturday, we went to see it and struck a deal there and then.
Needless to say, Mrs Liquid is now a happy bunny and I now have another car to mess around with - hence me signing up here.

It's a 56 plate 6spd 2.5 in Monaco Blue with Champagne Sport Seats and aluminium trim on Style 108s.
I'm unsure of the seat colour as it's not as light as the Champagne I'm used to or had in my old E46.
It's pretty well specced with Nav, DSP, heated seats, cruise control, auto lights/wipers etc.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions even though I'm no stranger to BMW so once the sun comes out tomorrow, I'll get some photos sorted and post them up as she's been spending too much time driving it to take any photos of it.

Welcome ! Her car sounds lovely. You ll find a wealth of knowledge and wallet emptying detail here.

Hello - Its great when you finally find the one after seeing a few that make your heart sink. Hope she loves it - and point out to her there are a few of us ladies on the forum too :)

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Its been a long day working on the house so I'll get some snaps sorted now and upload them later when I get back from an evening out.

I've tried coaxing her to join but she finds car forums a bit nerdy

Ok, here's some pictures at long last. I spent a good few hours cleaning this on Saturday and a weekend of hooning about has spoiled that quite easily.

So, the spec is...

6spd 2.5 in Monaco Blue
Heated Champagne Sport Seats
Brushed aluminium trim
Style 108s on Bridgestone Runflats
Pro Nav
DSP
Bi-Xenons
Cruise control
Auto lights
Auto dip rear view mirror
Rear PDC
///M Multi Function Steering Wheel
Bury Bluetooth Phone and Audio system

I'm sure it has a few other things that you guys would spot but that's all I'm really familiar with.

It's a nicely balanced car which is a decent steer - even though the runflats hamper it somewhat.
The engine is a nice rev-happy unit but it is quite underpowered for the chassis even though it sounds more purposeful. Still, it's more than enough for the wife and what she needs but a 3.0 litre would have been a better bet. I can always get her to upgrade in a few years time.

All in all; a characterful little car which I'm sure will bring a lot of smiles per miles over the years to come.

Cheers.

The pics are pretty poor to be fair as the light was fading rapidly so it doesn't show off the true colour of the paint. There'll be plenty of other opportunities to snap some decent pics.
