Apologies if this is your 3.0si advertised on Autotrader, but if you must add an M badge.........
at least get it straight :headbang:

Clearly comes from an OCD-free household.
Nice looking car though, with ox-blood seats

When I was in my mid to late 20's, I was guilty off putting on an M/// badge on the grill of my E30 325i soft-top, I quickly learned it made me come across a bigger idiot than normal. When I got my E30 Alpina C2 around 6 months later, I started to get rather anal about putting the right touches on a car. Now I am an M owner myself, I do find it really annoying when people list stuff as an M car on AutoTrader or eBay. When I was looking at Z4's during Nov, last year, I came across a few 3.0's that listed themselves as a Z4M or Z4M-Sport , with "replica" added in smaller font sizes or hidden in the middle of a blurb in the description. I can see how easy it is for someone who is not knowledgeable about the differences, cough up the funds to buy one of these cars, thinking they have just managed to find a steal of a deal, only to later find out the paid over the odds for a normal 3.0.

Ragged to within an inch of its life probably!

Ox blood seats. That's a new one.

Advert does point to someone that doesn't know much about the car.

I'd therefore have a guess and say it's not been serviced for a while and needs some work done.

Or maybe not.

Owner gets more leg with an M badge. But he could at least put it on straight.

Rather they didn't do it.
It's the only thing that knocks my duck off!
They can do whatever they want its their car but I find that a little bit sad....
But dont care really, just cracked open another bottle of Belgian.
Don't even know why I've commented I'm far too busy!

It may not have been fitting on an X3, but even BMW don't care now!

I had a 114d "M-Sport" as a courtesy car a few years ago and that M badges plastered all over it. :headbang:

Just a guess, but might Ox Blood mean Ammarone? Which is a bit special!

Couldn't give a toss what anyone wants to do to their car at the end of the day it's personal choice - when was the last time you bumped in to someone dressed exactly the same as you.

Mine was de-badged from new so only has the ///M badge on the boot which I like but I'm actually thinking about getting it wrapped and having that removed so there are no badges at all apart from the boot lid and indicators.

I know of a guy who has a 330D. He de-badged it and put a quad exhaust on it to make it look like an M3

1. Buy new grills.
2. Break one of the current grills (preferably the passenger side).
3. Tell wife a stone was thrown up and you were lucky it hit the grill as 1 second later it'd have been the windscreen.
4. Replace grill with previously purchased grill.
5. Sorted.

Alternatively just pull the grill out and replace it.

I really don't understand why people feel the need!

It's a status thing.

That and the scientifically proven gains in acceleration, top speed and brake horse power. It's estimated, don't have the exact figures, that a single M badge adds around 20bhp if positioned correctly. Multiply that by 4 or 5 badges and it's a cheap and easy 100bhp gain.

Stripes painted or stuck on the grills adds at least 50 bhp.

So you could be looking at £150bhp gains from strategically placed badges and tape.

A whole wrap of a car in homage to the 3.0 CSL Batmobile takes your average 320d M Sport along with fake //M badges into supercar territory. 500bhp gains have been claimed but not verified.

Obviously this is all a load of b*****ks as the only true performance upgrade is changing a whippy to a stubby due to the increased aerodynamic performance at the rear of the Z4. The extra downforce generated is then converted into grip on the road which allows the engine to propel the car forward at lightning speed.

True dat, so it is.
