Hello. I admit it, I am on here because I am having an issue with my '03. I replaced both of my top actuators because of leaks but now I cannot figure out how to attach the hall effect sensors on the left side actuator. I realize that I should have taken pictures, my fault.
Help please!

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry I can't help with your question, but hopefully someone will be along who can!

Thanks Mr Tidy for the welcome! If someone happens to have a top off and they took detailed pictures of the left actuator, that would be perfect!

Welcome. Again, I cannot help with your problem, but's good to have you aboard.
I'm hoping you remain with us for many years, simply so I can keep pointing out how inappropriate your user name has become :D :poke:

When I first asked about the hall effect sensors I needed pictures. I still do, but can anyone tell me what they actually do? I'm thinking it has something to do with the top latching when put up or down? Because mine doesn't latch either way.

Welcome to the forum. :)

Take a peek at this link.

Hope the answer is in there.

Thanks for the link with the information. However, he is working with a folding hardtop which folds into the trunk. Mine is a soft top with 2 hall effect sensors on the left side hydraulic actuator. I looked over his post and it appears to be very different than the system I am working with.

Hi, the hall sensors act as position detectors, they send a signal that the roof has reached a particular position in its movement cycle, this then enables the next sequence to initiate
