Another Newbie - Littlehampton on South Coast

Afternoon All, excellent forum found so much already to help me understand and look after my new purchase. Just treated myself to a late 50th birthday present, Sept 2003 Sterling Grey 3.0 Z4 with SMG and loving every minute of it. This is a 3rd car, I have 320D MSport Touring for work and the wife an X1 X Drive 1.8D.
This car is awesome, I cut my teeth with fast Fords through mid to late 80s (S1 RST etc) but nothing comes close to the Z4!
Another shock, my NCD is being used on the main car so had to insure this with none, £220 year fully comp! Maybe a benefit of being 50!

Thanks again for all the help on this site leading up to purchase and looking after it since.

Hello and welcome - I'm just along the coast from you in West Worthing

You may want to join in on some of the Sussex/Kent forum runs - although there probably won't be much going on until the spring...

Does sound like a great car. Mine is a 2003 and I love it. When you get chance we would all love to see some pics

Forgot to say, deffo up for some runs. Car goes in local body shop Monday for a wheel refurbish. Got the dreaded paint bubble so off for a full shot blast.

Nice car. You are not so far away from me, indeed we're taking the dog down to Climping for a run on the beach later - in the Discovery, not the Zed!

I'd be interested I. How you get on with the wheel refurb. Mine will need doing soon and I haven't got anywhere in mind to take it.

Hope you enjoy and hope that you can join a meet - there's a very friendly bunch of us in this part of the world. :driving:

I use Platinum in Swindon - they're very good

Thanks Perry, I'll bear that in mind, but I was hoping for somewhere a little nearer.

They do a collection & delivery service but when I've used them I've driven up early on a Saturday to drop off the wheels and returned a week later to collect - so I'm happy enough with their work that I'm willing to make 2 x 200 mile round trips....

Thanks for the welcomes and comments about the car. RickRob I will let you know how it goes with the wheels, considered for a week or so about wheel refurb by mobile operator at my home or body shop. Important that it lasts so decided to spend a bit more on the second option. On the dog walk we go to Rustington in the X1, I am sure our Springer would look great in the Zed with his ears flapping in the wind but not much room left for the wife and kids!

Welcome - looks good!

And I like those wheels, definitely worth a refurb. I got mine done for £35 a wheel by 1st Gear Valeting, but you are probably too far away from him.

Hi G
