Yes a little pointless to some people, But I'm not one of those people ;)
I really liked the feature of the lighted shift knob on the M models, But the stock shifter is a little long and feels almost rubbery, Then I discovered the ZHP weighted shift knob,

Nice and heavy and the perfect height for the Z4 console but you loose the light feature and I personally think thats a really cool feature!
I mean c'mon how many cars have lighted shift knobs from the factory lol,

Anyway after a lot of drilling and sanding and swearing with the dremel and after breaking the led board (I blew one of the stock LED's, Instead of guessing I just replaced all 3 leds with the same color and it came out very stock looking)
But here is the final piece,

Cool look  can this be done on none M models?

Yes this could fit any model BMW, you would need a simple hookup for power to the shift knob as non M models are not pre-wired but it's very simple.

You just made me miss my lighted shiftknob

Good job  Clean install.
Its pretty easy to do, you need a dremel, a drill and a stock shift knob for the lighted parts.
Its a nice little weekend project, Just like those painted reflectors! did you ever get any paint from that place I showed you?

Just to add,
I have had numerous requests to make these for members,
Its a little consuming to make these and a lot can go wrong and totally ruin the shift knob,
I think I'm going to call it a day on making these,

Just bumping this thread to see if anyone here is interested in buying these lighted ZHP knobs,

Had a lot of requests and decided to give in to demand,

Anyone interested in one? (or two :P )lol

Ok answered all PM's,

I will have the ZHP's tomorrow and will start making them and having stock of pre-made lighted knobs
I'll also make a for sale thread with some new pics for people,
