Hi,

I've just bought a Z4 2.0litre sport Roadster, It's one year old but only done just over 1000 miles. Pick it up on Wednesday. Wednesday has never seemed so far away from a Saturday night.!

It's a lovely car in Montego Blue with Pearl Grey Oregon Leather interior, was a lovely Crisp cold day today and test driving the car with the roof down really sold it.!

One question for the experienced drivers out there, do you ever find an issue with your blind spot when changing lanes? I noticed with the roof up that the when checking over my shoulder I was looking at the fabric roof rather than out the window, I guess I'm just used to driving a hatchback and having extra windows.!

Will add a picture when I get the car.!

Hi - welcome Outdoorcjc..

Sounds like a nice example and just 1,000 miles :)

I think you'll find yourself using mirrors a lot more and a shoudlder glance just for something much closer to the divers door

Start counting the hours to Wednesday

Welcome to the forum and like the Z in blue a lot... I bet it looks great with the sport kit! Look forward to the pics.

You'll soon adapt to driving with the roof up... I use the mirrors a lot as I have a perverse obsession with the rear arches!

Delighted to hear you had the roof down today... you're going to fit right in

Forgot I took a couple of Pics on my phone to look at till Wednesday.!

I know what you mean about the wheel arches, the look amazing seeing them in the wing mirrors.

Thanks for the welcomes.

Nice looking car,...........and  if you go fast enough, ...there is no blind spot. :tumbleweed:

Outdoorcjc, welcome to the forum... :driving:

Concerning the blind spot and how to properly adjust your mirrors. Below I have copied in the instructions that BMW once mailed out with a newletter.
Adjusted your seat and the inside rear view mirror.
Now to adjust the outside mirrors:

1. After adjusting the seat press your head against the driver's side window.
2. Adjust your mirror so you can barely see the side of your car.
3. Move your head into the middle of the car (in front of your rear view mirror) and adjust your passenger side mirror so that you can just barely see the side of your car.

This might take a little bit more trial and error on the road. But once it is perfect there will be no blind spot!
The above does work but does take some trial and error and some getting use to.

Welcome  1000 miles must be like buying a new car

Re the blindspot as above the mirrors will cope with that for you no more looking over your shoulder and also agree about rear arches in mirror :D

hope the snow as gone when you pick it up, otherwise you will have a tricky first drive hehe

Lovely car and welcome

I find the mirrors are really rather good for blind spot etc. rarely have to use a shoulder glance. just drive with the roof down everywhere :D

Thanks for the welcomes and the tips for the mirrors and blindspots.

Luckily down here on the South Coast we haven't had any snow, hopefully it stays that way for Wednesday!
