Another cracked wheel (326M)

Hi Guys,

One of my rear 326M "19" alloys has cracked. I've already had it repaired once and its failed again just 3 months after. (Potholes + Run Flats = :( )

I want to replace the wheel but I'm really struggling to find a single Rear alloy.

Are there any other known good re-sellers/sources known to the forum? (I've scoured eBay already other than eBay)

Orr are there any other known good alternative OEM wheels which suit the style of the car which I could replace them with?

Thanks
Simon

I think the 18” 325Ms look good.

There are often some for sale on here, not sure if they are sold yet but a guy on here was selling a whole set of 326Ms for around £350 or something.

I've got 326's on mine. touch wood all OK at the min. I'm saving for a set of 437M's . I think they look pretty good and go well with the car.
Forged rather than cast so should be much stronger then the 326's.

OP.....get rid!!!!! You are wasting your time with these alloys. Get some decent aftermarket ones or another stronger OEM design as there are plenty to choose from...and ditch the runflats as well.👍

https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=119556 these look great on E89s & price reflects they need a refurb .
You could refit your own tyres as they are the same widths as the 326s though if they are runflats you might want to consider other options

I agree, it's just a costly exercise (especially considering, im thinking about selling the car in the spring)! Completely agree, re the run-flats, I would have never have specced those if I had a choice!

I like those too! and a good price! Have you seen them on an E89 at all?

Keeping a market watch on the 437M since I will be in the market for a set too. Just holding off for a bit since I have lots of outgoings elsewhere.
The price seems all over the place on them. Lot of genuine ones on the bay come up around the £850-1100 mark. Yet some others are asking £1500-2000.....
Whatsup with these prices and what is the realistic market rate?

Is the 437 more resilient to cracks than the 326 per se? Or is it that the 326 cracks appear more because they have been shod with run-flats whereas enthusiasts will change the tyres on the 437 they acquire so appear to crack less statistically???

The 437M alloys are forged. The 326M alloys are cast.
437M are stronger, and lighter, they are far less likely to crack.

Not sure why prices are all over the place, should be able to easily pick up a set under £1000 with tyres

I'm genuinely not sure what to do...

I'm planning on selling the car very soon so investing money into a set of wheels for a car I only really intend to keep for a few more months is a tough pill to swallow :|

Problem is I absolutely have to do something because the tyre loses all its pressure in a space of 2-4 hours!

Sounds like I may have to delay the long-awaited M240i.

If your planning on parting with the car shortly, then the 230's suggested by mr Wilks maybe a good option. They'll go straight on, you can use your tyres. plus you'll probably recoup most of the costs by selling on your 3 good 326's .

I have a single 326m rear wheel with a slight crack, sitting in my Garage. The crack is very slight, not sure if any use to you. Otherwise it's in excellent condition and would't need a refurb.

Only the one priced at £355 on BIN has no previous damage. The others have cracks and have been repaired. Given mine failed a very short time after weld repair, im a bit skeptical about those.
