Another car cover question!

Always up for helping others buddy
I would scrimp on a good external cover though as trust me I've tried a lot
Large sized halfords one is very good
Depends how much want to spend and quality wanted buddy
This is best I've used and easiest to fit
Halfords one is light and lifts in wind etc

The other one I was looking at is the Stormforce Plus (http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/stormforceplus.htm) which seems to add an extra bunjee on the front and back so you can get the cover even tighter on. Thats a fraction over £200.

Not seen on person
Fire Bobby has one I think
Ref those cords
I recommend what are called gust guards
Ebay for £9
2 fit on front 2 at back they clip on and I bought 6 meters of bungee cord from B&q
Then put it through front ones, threw under car and to side
Pulled out with roller
Then threw under back of car, then you pull it, thread it and tie it off at rear clips:)

And those crocodile type clips don't rip the cover at all?

Not on halfords one they didn't
And it's the papery finished cover
New one is heavy duty material
Just made extra sage by putting them on the reinforced edges and not pulling overly tight hence bungee core of 1/2cm thickness so as not to silly tight

Thanks again for your help with this. I shall now leave you in peace for tonight.

These are what I used, they pinch together and leave a hole which I tie a line from front to back, no movement or slippage

Hi Marc, yeah I put those front and back on the cover, just stops the wind from moving the cover sideways

Good plan buddy as keeps it still :)

I used to use a broom to get my straps underneath the Supra when I had it. Thing is, after using a car cover for 4 years and seeing the amount of condensation under the cover in winter, I would never have another.

I also caused significant damage to the the bonnet and roof with the lacquer cracking on the surface. Never had this with a car before but the cover seemed to cause it. I think a good quality wax is the best thing to protect a car if you don't have a garage or a carcoon.

H.

I think I will take your advice and not bother with a car cover - my zed will rarely get driven in the winter and if the hood gets a little grubby, it will prob cost £30 to get sorted by a local valet specialist in the area - cover free is the way to go knowing that there will be less damage all round!

Not sure what cover you had buddy
But mine comes with a cover over the soft top
Then cover goes over the top
Heavy rain wind etc
Cars as dry as a bone no marks as soft inner material

End of day get what pay for in my book

Hey guys, I am looking at a cover for frost/snow. 6 days of the week my car stays in a garage overnight (unless I am working nights!) but one night a week I have to leave my car parked outside.

I can't really afford to drop a lot of money on a cover due to it being this time of year. So I was wondering what people thought of this cover from Demon Tweeks and what size would you get for an E85? :/

Ah I see what you mean, hadn't considered that! I'll get down to Halfords and get a large cover, cheers mate.

Most welcome buddy
Been there done that
Keep my cars under cover all the time inside and out
Literally until August when I splashed out on my 2 new covers for M, it stayed under size L halfords one

It keeps crap, bird lime, sun bleaching, rain, snow, ice off it and makes it less conspicuous

All for £50
It's breathable so can go under it when wet
Can slightly sweat but not very much as dries in wind anyway.
Do invest in gust guards and bungee cord from front to back to prevent lifting in high winds
And a long handled mini roller to catch clips under car as makes it easier:)
