Ehi guys, having some issues with the roof, just a bit different than what I read mostly.
Since for the past couple of years I haven't had a place to store the hardtop it has stayed on the car. Obviously the soft top was working fine before but sometime along the line something decided to go caput.
The roof is currently open and I get the following symptoms:
1) the red light by the control switches blinks continuously (not only when I push the button)
2) when I push the top up button nothing happens: windows DON'T roll down, top DOESN'T unlatch and NO wining noise from the motor
3) I attempted to manually lift the top by pulling the red tab and turning 90deg as well as pulling the other cord in the back of the boot. The top unlocks but the motor doesn't disengage so it's basically impossible to lift
Doesn't really sound like to common symptoms of a failed motor so I'm curious to ask if anyone known what it could be. I don't even have a way to test if perhaps is the microswitch behind the movable tray in the trunk since the tray is down and can't move the top up...
