Another brake caliper Q......

Hi all,

I have just fitted 224's to my 3.0si roadster. Really pleased with the look but what's immediately obvious is the amount of caliper and hub you can see due to the open style of the wheel. Is there a way to smarten up minor surface rust other than by painting them?

Cheers

If you search around you will find several people have bought in to calliper covers, mixed opinions but they look OK to me

Thanks Ewazix, I'd never heard of caliper covers, mmm....not sure about those, not a fan of coloured calipers,

I'd like to keep he car as original as possible er, well apart from the 224's that is :)

Silver Hammerite then, elbow grease, patience. Remove caliper and carrier for best results or you can make a half decent job in situ
Colour combo not quite right below
Before silver hammerite

After big brake upgrade Blue! green pads getting painted black soon

If you are going silver, then on the hub I would just use a Dremel with a soft wire brush attachment to bring it back to shiny metal.

I painted calipers silver using hammerite and sprayed my hubs Matt black

Also clean the inner arches whilst your there

Looks OEM when complete and makes a big difference IMO 8)
