Hi folks,
I've got an airbag warning light on the dash - had this a few times before (mainly self inflicted
) and always cleared fine using IMPA; this one however returns as soon as the car is turned off and back on again.
The error code is 98E0 - the full code showing in INPA is below.
Sticking the german bits into Google translate gives:
"Resistance Zuendpille Zk3 (belt tensioner right) too large
System time Error start - hours
System time error end - hours
no suitable error symptom
Test conditions met
Error currently available and already saved
Error was causing a warning lamp to light up"
The error showed up very soon after I replace both door membranes - which involved taking both the side airbags off and reconnecting.
However, the description above suggests this is possibly tensioner related (and searching on the internet also brings up results relating to the occupancy sensor), rather than the side airbag? I did have some dampness in both footwells due to the leaking membranes.
Anyone have a suggestion where best to start? Also - where is says "belt tensioner right" is this pointing to the right hand side of the car as you sit in it - so the driver side (off side) in a UK car?

And from anothe site:
98E0 Resistance,firing circuit,belt tensioner,front right,too high
