Disconnect the battery. Wait 10 minutes then reconnect.cwbush54 said:I recently changed out my battery (2003-Z4-2.5) and the airbag dash light came on along with the Airbag OFF light at the left knee of the passenger seat. Get no codes on my reader and vehicle has been through several "start/stop" cycles. Any thoughts??

So now due to this, I now have to wait until after the new year to book mine inMikeyH said:This has now become a fiasco. Z4 was to go in today to my local garage for its air bag light, in the meantime wife’s car went in for mot and service. Came back with rear screen heater and inside lights not working, took it back and its been there for 4 days. Turned out they hadn’t put back a connector properly when they changed the cabin air filter.Wife not happy and my car now needs to wait for a new slot as they used it for her car.
However they were honest and didn’t charge for the time

hopefully Santa will bring me my OBD reader and will at least be able to find what the codes are. Yes all goodMikeyH said:Yes it does and goes off. Does this mean it’s okay now?
Thank you enuff_zed, that’s very reassuringenuff_zed said:Yes all goodMikeyH said:Yes it does and goes off. Does this mean it’s okay now?![]()

You see your entire life go by whilst that light is on ….
Well that’s a bit worrying because it goes off first :? However we weirdos here had a great time, thank you, hope you did tooPondrew said:SRS and ABS lights should stay on for around six seconds longer than the other dash lights with full ignition/ engine start.
I know this because I need to fit a timer to get around the MOT when I remove all my airbags!
The fool proof way to check if your airbags are working is to drive into a brick wall (or similar) over about 20mph. It is an expensive and apparently quite painful way of testing them though!![]()
I hope all you weirdos had a great Xmas BTW!

Very unlikely to be connected to your coolant tank change unless some ham-fisted mechanic went mad in the cabin!Mr_E85Bim said:I have same issue since yesterday![]()
So I took my car in to get the coolant tank replaced and so wondering if this could have caused it? That was done like two days before.
I have checked obvious things like battery connection and connections under seats. I tried leaving the battery disc for 15mins too.
Whilst looking under the passenger seat I found this strange box. Is it oem? Anyone know what it does?
P.s. I have ordered a proper obd to read the codes

I believe the strange box is an occupancy sensor bypass, fitted when non-compatible seats are installed. (I am no expert on this though tbh)
So yes, get the codes and report back. Maybe they have pushed the seats right back and messed up a connection somewhere?
