Hi guys- im sure theres loads of threads about this but just wanted to share my experience!

Chucked 30 quid in the tank on Friday, range was on 20 when i fuelled up. Ive done 80 miles during the weekend & the range is now showing 135 miles! So 215 minus the 20 originally showing on the range = 195 miles to 30 quid!! Bloody good for a 3.0!

Thats driving pretty steady with only a coupe of squirts, no motorways, a mix of town & A roads. OK, ive not been getting that all the time in my 6 or so weeks of ownership (usually 110/120 miles to 30 quid- mainly short journeys) & the range might not be really accurate?? but im really surprised, so much so that i wanted to share!

Yep, its a good lump the 3.0.

As has been discussed in many a thread, as soon as you throw a turbocharger onto a petrol engine (especially a small turbo that spins up at low revs) mpg is never going to be as good.

I find the 3.0 a great balance between cc, power and economy.

I get barely 20mpg out of my 3.0! But to be fair my driving is either rush hour city traffic or weekend hooliganism :driving:

i travel to oxford and back everyday (50miles EW), and i average 42mpg. which i think is incredible.

Totally justifies the 3.0 over any other engine size.
