Angle eye converstion worth doing?

Ok tomorrow i might start doing my ccfl angle eye converstion but one thing is holding me back. Im basicly worried that when i come to sell the car it may put people off buying it due to fact is has been modified. just wanted to grab other poeples opinions on this matter, should i do it or not?
 
they do look great on the car no idea why BMW didn't do them in the 1st place!

if you decide to sell the car, give the buyer the options if you want to buy the car with the lights with AE or just take the lights off and place some standard ones on and nobody would be any wiser.

Much easier said than done if you have chopped up some OEM Xenons. I'm in the same position as kevdix. I've got some AE's coming over from Japan but I'm still in two minds whether or not to fit them. :?

Not at £500+ a set it isn't. :cry:

I'm 30-70 in favour of fitting them at the minute. That will probably change when I get my grubby mits on the AEs though!
 
I know what you mean re cost Bradders, but you can always find spare ones at lower prices on ebay :thumbsup:

AE fitted look great on the car, shame I am not that brave to cut my lights open :oops:
 
I'd not worry. I've had them to years and if I decided to sell I'll bet a host of guys woudl swap me their amber xenons and a good few ££'s too, for my clear xenons with AE.

I'm with ranski. I don't think buyers would even notice, unless the wiring was done sloppily and was visible under the hood (bonnet :D).
 
My 85mm rings have finally arrived from Japan. I must admit, the fit is fantastic compared to the standard 80mm kits sold on ebay. I think I'm going to go for it. Like CJ says, if I need to return to standard I could always swap the headlights out with someone elses plus a few quid.

Kevdix - have you decided what you're going to do?

So is 85mm the magic number for both the high beams and low then?
 
for an easier fit you need 85mm and 80mm rings

you will also need to have the CCFL angels with the plastic case (like mine) otherwise the 85mm angel on the high beam will crack as it flex's againist another part (hard to explain, but you will see what i mean when you take the light apart)

PS i have 80mm on mine and fitted easily using a glue gun

No - I'm going to use 80mm on the low and 85mm on the high.

Do you mean when the level adjustment kicks in? I'm intending to mount the 85mm ring on the silver plastic housing so it should be a safe distance away from any contact points.
 
If you mount it on the silver plate at the front of the light you will be ok

But if you mount it on the main section then you will need the casing

I mounted mine of the casing as it looks more OEM as the wires etc cannot be see

Yes, thanks for that. I'll be mounting both of my AEs in their plastic casings and on the front silver plate. The rings look 'cleaner' out of the plastic casings but will be much harder to glue. I've removed the metal tags from the back of the AE plastic casings to give a perfectly flush surface. Pics to follow. :thumbsup:

I used high temp clear silicone sealer. Still fixed and no colour change to it after a good few years/
