Angel halo ring not lighting up

Hi guys!

TO my absolute horror- my yellow angel eye/halo ring is not lighting up on the passengers side! :(

There are no errors on my dash (odd I know), I only realised when my dad pointed it out this morning.

I went to halfords to see if I could buy a bulb for it, but they told me it is many LED bulbs that light the rings and that only BMW can do it!

Contrary to that, I read somewhere that it is just a H8 lightbulb. I told him this and he just said h8's don't exist.

Im not too sure what to do...where to get one and how to replace the bulb (youtube only really shows other models of which the wheel needs to be removed etc.

Has this happened to anyone? Did you do a DIY job? How easy was it and most importantly, where did you get your bulb from!!!

Thanks guys :)

How old is the Zed? If its not very old I would be tempted to drop into the dealer and moan the bulb has failed prematurely, nothing to loose, or just get a bulb from your dealers parts and fit it, is there anything in the handbbook for changing the bulbs?

Tim.

Hi guys. It's a 59 plate so warranty has expired. Is the h8 bulb relatively easy to fit? Do you know of any tutorials/pictures?

Thanks

It was a horror to me...cant think of many things I hate more than bulbs that are out...makes it worse when you go to replace it and you can't get one!!

The ones on ebay seem to be white...I just want the standard yellow one...? Do you know of any shops that sell them?

Everywhere... It's a standard h8 fog bulb. Halfords if you're stuck?

Got to love halfords... Such idiots there (generalisation but most my experiences are)

Guy at work took his wife's mazda 3 there for a headlight bulb... Literally spent 1 hour in the end says oh no its a xenon i cant do that.

I took a look in the work car park... 10 mins i change his H7 bulb!! Idiots!

Horror to me was switching on the living room lights on Thurs night and the bulb blowing the house electrics. Then trying to replace the 5amp fuse wire the width of a hair in the dark :)

Sorry to stray off topic but-----

I'll bet you've got halogens! They used to "pop" the fuse in my house - Go to an electrical factor and buy some trip switches - No more fuse changing for me!

I'm using roughware bulbs throughout the house as refuse to use rubbish energy saving bulbs, but they have popped on occasion and blown the mains fuse. Fuse box dates from 1971 so needs replacing ideally.

I changed my fuses for trips as I used to work away from home some weeks and I don't think I would like to have given her fuse changing instructions over the phone!
ps What are roughware lamps? just the old fashioned tungsten lamp?

Roughware bulbs are the same as the good old fashioned household lighbulbs but are manufactured more durable for use in factories etc, I just bought 30 off the net the other week, they don't look any different to the standard pearl household bayonet bulb. We gave up on energy saving bulbs, quality of light is awful etc so switched back.
