Angel eyes upgrade.

I have just received my upgrade bulbs from MyLitCo for the daytime running lights on my 2012 2.0 Sdrive. It looked a simple process to replace the bulbs. On inserting the bulb i found that when I located the three locking lugs and pressed the bulb in further it still would not rotate. When I went back on eBay I found another supplier selling exactly the same bulbs about £20 cheaper. This supplier said they were not compatible with my car although the supplier I purchased them from said they were. Anybody else had this problem.

They can be quite tight to turn, especially as the access doesnt really allow to to grab hold of the bulb holder properly.

Chances are you need to twist them a bit more...

Totally my fault. The three lugs are different sizes. It only fits in one way. It needs to be compared how the original fits and the top of the bulb holder marked. Goes in quite easily after that.

Yes I had a problem with changing my DRL's from halogen to LED ,what a nightmare,I tried to do it myself and failed miserably, got a mechanic friend to try ,he got one done easy but the other one refused to lock in.Paid almost £55 for these bulbs, they are now a little marked so I cannot send them back for a refund.Staying with the originals which on reflection are pretty good anyway.Put the LED's on E Bay for £30 no takers so far.Another lesson learned. You need the hands of a child and the strength of a man to do this job anyway. :headbang:

Right, daft question of the day. I have just noticed that one of the halo bulbs have gone, going to take the opportunity to upgrade them on both sides, but how many bulbs do I need to buy?

Thanks

One H8 equivalent each side (so, 2 bulbs total). Each bulb lights both rings in a headlamp unit, albeit due to design one ring appears dimmer than the other).
