yepega - yes I have fitted them and yes it's very difficult. The lights cannot be opened, so in effect you have to destroy one set to make them up.

I used 80mm circle, 4mm diameter that can be made to fit the reflector. They camefrom Oznium

Have a read of my project here and it should answer all your questions:

End result looks like this, although photographing them seems difficult

I will have to re-read that conversion as on the first pass, I still did not get the bit what you actually destroyed and if you did - how it was "mended" after the destruction ...

c'mon pvr - keep up.... :poke:

Basically you cannot separate the lens from the body of a Z4 headlight, unlike on some BMW's where you can melt the adhesive by hot air gun or baking. The Z4 uses a non thermal silicone like adhesive.

In essence for the conversion I chopped the back up on one light unit to retain the lens and on the other chopped the lens up to retain the back. Once their respective flanges were cleaned I had parts to bond together to make a complete light. In my case I aslo kept the clear inner indicator parts to build back in

Thanks for that teacher Phil :D

So any risk that you might get moisture in the lens as they are bonded together with a new material?

Nope - not a chance. Fully sealed with a bead of silicone. I learnt my lessons in how to do it on the X5 when I had to redo them after a few weeks....
these have been hit with hoses, stood in airport car parks and taken a 100 mile motorway wet drive.
