Anyone had any light from these guys?

i've asked for some black angels for my 2003 but have been told they don't have any stock till mid november. There are similar ones on ebay from America but not sure on them.

2xcite at least seems to be a UK based company.

Hi,

I have had lots of experience with them. They ONLY offer the Halogen units, they come with auto leveling motors and are available in Black and Chrome, they get stock in and almost immediately sell out. if you car came with Xenons out of the factory these lights will not work in your car.

There is a way around this by buying a separate HID kit but you void the warranty on the lights by installing it and run the risk of condensation later on.

My solution was to purchase a set from a Canadian company who do FREE UK delivery, though i'm expecting to pay VAT on them through customs... theirs are compatible with OEM Xenon models and come with bulbs FREE which was a result!

2 excite as a company though are very honest and helpful when you ask them questions. I was on the verge of buying a set of headlights from them and as they were taking payment asked if my car had xenons out of the factory and they refused to sell me a set knowing i'd only return them, so that was nice of them to not try and con me out of £300+

i believe my car just has normal light using the H7 bulbs?? are these xenons??

To tell if your car has xenons look underneath your light units and see if there is a metal square plate on the underside. This is the ballast and only xenons require a ballast. Otherwise take note of your VIN number and call bmw to see if your car came out the factory with them on...

Normally though if your car in an 03-05 E85. Xenons only came on the SE model as standard.

Easy ways to tell if you have Xenons:

You have no height adjuster on the light switch. Just a single knurled wheel for binnacle brightness, Halogens have 2.

Xenons flicker on and then shine brighter white

Yellow hazzard decals under bonnet

Halogens have H7 stamped on hte lens

You can hear xenon shutters go up and down from dipped to main

That should be easy enough to identify fo now :)

Is it a simple beam adjustment to make them legal over here and how sure are you they are compatible with pre facelift xenons? Has/did your car have xenons?

They come with H7 and H1 xenon bulbs DS2 i think? at 6000k so 'White' but if you want you can buy 8000k seperate bulbs for the blue light. You need to reuse your old ballasts from the old lights. Or buy an aftermarket set of ballasts for like £50.

My car came out of the factory with Xenons so I didn't want to buy halogen units and 'upgrade them' with a HID kit.

To adjust the beam here are 4 adjustment screws, two for left and right, two for up and down. So it takes a bit of playing around but you can get the beam converted to RHD no problem.

How can a US beam pattern be adjusted to be a. UK pattern? A correct UK pattern is a flock to the left for kerb illumination. US is flat or to the right. Are these lights built and designed for LHD and rhd?

No left flick in the UK is an MOT advisory as a minimum - I know I've had one :(
