Angel Eyes and Auto Lights

So, i have Xenon lights and I keep them on automatic. I noticed earlier that during the day the Angel eyes weren't on at all (It was midday and not dark). Do these ever come on separately from the Xenons when on automatic or do they just come on both together when it gets dark or say when you're going through a tunnel?

I have Halogens myself and the sidelights come on only with headlights in auto - I assume the Xenons share the same output wiring from the LCM. You can code sidelights as DRL then your AE's would be on all the time.

 I've just upgraded the bulbs in my angel eyes to a brighter 20w and they looks great when they're on by themselves, so i might look at coding them to use all the time as DRL's.

Didn't think you could code the AE's to be on as DRL's? I think the option is there, depending on which coding software you use, but it doesn't actually produce any result? You can code fogs as DRL's I believe.

I'd have to take a look at the dump from a Xenon LCM but I think they are all the same - would be a bit expensive otherwise. Mine has the option for Bi-Xenon for example.
Assuming they are all the same you can have the following options (based on my LCM):
PO_ALS_DRL - Position lights as DRL which I assume is the same output from the LCM to either sidelights or AEs
GED_FL_ALS_DRL - DIMMED HIGH BEAMS AS DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS
FL_DRL_MIT_RL - HIGH BEAM AS DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS WITH REAR TAIL LIGHTS
DRL_BLK_VORN_GEDIMMT - DIMMED FRONT TURN SIGNALS AS DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS

Having not tried them I don't know if the ECE DRL option needs activating too.

In theory it should just be a case of activating the PO to get them on - not sure if you can do this in SSS but might also be worth a look.

Hmmm - perhaps you can - found this post

If you scroll to the very bottom, seems to suggest you can with NCS Expert

Seems a little bit odd that they come on when the dimmed main beam option is selected. Would be worth trying one-by-one to see the effects.

So this seems to be what i want:

(But will the mains still come on when it gets dark or say through a tunnel with the control set to auto?)

I turned on my halos as DRL using NCSExpert to set the following:
GED_FL_ALS_DRL - DIMMED HIGH BEAMS AS DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS = Aktiv

Also - I just spoke to Chandlers Brighton and they can code through NCSExpert :headbang: , i have Intravee - is this something i could do myself?
