Angel eye HELP!!!!!!!! :(

I'm sure we had the indicator bulb issue when we fitted Lynchy's new headlight units, only way we got around this was to fit the original side light bulbs.
Try fitting standard bulbs to the sidelights (I know this will be difficult for you :P ) just to see if the problem clears. Good luck :thumbsup:
 
You need canbus free style sidelights or use the original 5v one.

When the sidelight goes the Z4 puts its indicators on all the time... Whats happening to yours is a halfway house... The full current ia not being used in the sidelights so the indicators are partially lit.

If you've got access to the software, you can code it not to check the existance of your sidelights.
failing that, you'd want the resistor in place to trick the car into thinking the bulb exists.

the car monitors resistance, and it it's not right, it assumes the bulb has blown, and will turn on your indicators as temp side lights.

This is what I have done also, it is hidden in where the indicator stalk goes. Solved the problem for me
 
Also removed the sidelight and fixed it elsewhere - that worked but I didn't like the hole. Since then, bought some canbus LEDs and had no issues.
 
Maybe you have an earthing problem?

Spray the connection plug on the headlight main loom with wd40 or any electronic lubricant!

You may have a corroded pin on the back of the headlight or the connecting plug!

Worth a try!
 
Jonny I have some sidelights you can have if you want?

Not idea of the make, they were on the car (error and indicator free) but I just swapped them out for some multi-LED type ones.
 
Yep Jonny. I had the same problem. I bought LED side lights and the orange indicators in the headlights would trigger, but when I swapped back to the original 501 sidelights the indicators went away.

Couple of months ago however, I bought these 501 sidelights for my headlights and I would still get the orange indicators coming on in my headlights? They claim to be ERROR FREE CANBUS aswell!

If you've got an OBD cable then just code out the sidelight bulb check, i'll dig out the lines I changed if you want. I didn't want to go down the resistor route as I was looking for low power, plus I don't trust them to dissipate the heat without melting!

I have an OBD cable along with INPA software.

cant be done with INPA, you'd need DIS or SSS.
In SSS, it's very easy, just go to the light section, and untick the boxes for the lights you don't want.. then hit code/save.
