Angel Eye Bulbs?

Does anybody know how to or has successfully managed to change the angel eye bulbs in our headlights? they look a bit dull and boring to me and wouldnt mind seeing something like what is on the new M3 models with bright white LED type light halo's.

just wondered if its as easy as changing the existing bulb to a canbus LED bulb so it doesnt throw a wobbler and give a bulb error?

Cheers guys

if you have the bi-xenon then its a case of swapping a bulb for the side light

So far I tried some canbus led bulbs off ebay, but they kept bringing the warning light up, the seller told me I needed to buy some resistors, but as they can get hot & i didnt have a clue where to mount them I decided against it

I then tried higher wattage bulbs, which looked great for about a month untill one blew

Since then ive got the old bulbs back in & putting up with the dullness untill I have another idea.

ah great :( so it sounds like a bit of a mare trying to get them to work, great. Is the bulb just a typical 501 wedge type? if so i think ive already got some LED canbus ones somewhere in a drawer in the garage

yea they are a bit of a pain!

No that would be too easy lol I dont know what type of bulb they are, it took me ages of searching ebay for the correct one & i still cant find its exact name

Its a straight pin bayonet fitment bulb if i remember correctly, the best way is to take one out n have a look

Hi, just bought my first z. 2003 3.0lt and would like to upgrade the rear tail light and brakes light bulbs but am really unsure what ones, any help would be great thanks :

I thought the bulb is a BA9s type and is fixed to the plastic holder. See link
