Android Unit for Nav Z4

I've just bought a 2006 X3 as my sensible car and have been looking into updating the stereo.

Found that there are some excellent screens available that simply fit where the storage unit sits on the dash (when your X3 didn't come with Nav). Considering the X3 & Z4 nav are the same units, wouldn't it be true to say that these screens would fit straight into our Z4s?

Either by cutting for the Nav unit or by replacing the whole system with this new screen and a standard Business Head unit?

I’d be interested to read a review of these aftermarket systems - I guess they are just connected to the standard head unit via the aux input?

The Z4 installation must be similar to the X3 but I suppose it is possible that the contour of the dashboard is different so the housing shape may not match perfectly?

Oh shucks. Good spot - i always thought they were the same. Never mind - i can't find an android screen specific for the Z4.
 
No they are differnet, only slightly and some have fitted the X3 ones to Z4's, but they don't look quite right

You can get them with 7.1 rather than 4.4.

I don’t know my android so don’t know how new 7.1 is mind....

Oh, ok. No I’m an iOS person, so have no idea about Android.

9 is the latest but only just out, so 7 isn't bad , I'll see if I can see one of those
