Alas that's not my bag at all. I'm sure someone from XDA Developers could easily do thatIAmOrion said:How is your skill set with Android devices? Any chance you could dump the kernel / make a ROM / Android Image of it?
I *really* want to get my hands on the OS so I can look to port it to other devices such as a Nexus tablet for example

The timing on the release of this product really annoys meIAmOrion said:AnubisZed said:Alas that's not my bag at all. I'm sure someone from XDA Developers could easily do that
I've been over on XDA for years.... no ones quite sussed this yet either and most downloads no longer work (although the Rockchip tools are still downloadable etc). I like the "OEM" Launcher / OS but £500+ is way more than I want to spend on a unit (Especially when I already have a Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB Double Din that deals with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto)
That can't have been cheap for you. That's a real shame bud, sorry to hear it.enzed4 said:The timing on the release of this product really annoys me. I've paid more than this a couple of months ago to get my Jap import iDrive converted to an updated English language version (although now waiting for them to fit the BT component with music streaming).
I probably would have been happy to try one of these Android units as it would have saved me about 30% over the OEM solution and looks better (even if it doesn't fold down).
One thing I noticed is that the Android system doesn't support Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay is an 'option'AnubisZed said:That can't have been cheap for you. Thanks for the infoAnubisZed said:enzed4 said:One thing I noticed is that the Android system doesn't support Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay is an 'option'
To obtain Android Auto and Apple Car Play then you simply plug an adaptor box into one of the USB ports (2 are included with the loom) and set it up from there. You could pay around £100 for an "official" adaptor or you could get one of the many generic ones that are available for around £25.
Plug it in, plug your original iPhone of Android cable into it and away you go.

Can't open it yet though as I'm 18 miles away from it at the moment as my wife sent me that photo![]()

Looks oem.
Got any pics installing the idrive controller?
How is it powered?
I can imagine everyone without idrive will be doing this!
Not wireless Carplay as far as I'm aware, but the dongle is only £30 (or less for an import)Deepseaskateboard said:Sounds really good.
Do you know if its wireless carplay?
Can’t wait to see your video.
