with the weather forecast for the next month not looking good ive decided to be safer than sorry and put the hardtop back on. i will do anything to avoid a roof motor failure.

has anyone else had this idea????

I never took mine off.... I think I should be a coupe owner as I prefer the car with the hardtop on.

Will be fun when it comes off however.

Pfft.....had the top down yesterday for 3 hours on the drive home from Bristol :poke:

Yours is a built-in hard top so it doesn't count....

Load of softies. it was bootiful with the roof down yesterday. And for what it's worth IMHO an E85 roadster looks c**p with a hard top. I have a Titan silver car and every car with a silver hard top looks a different colour from the rest of the car. :?

Unfortunately the weather forecast was wrong yet again today. It was a lovely day yesterday and is the same again today and I've left the Z4 at home :headbang:

Doesn't matter anyway as I don't have a hardtop. I figure a new roof motor will cost less than a hardtop should the worst happen.

Are people absolutely certain that even with a hard top fitted no water drains away each side near the internal water outlets?

Had the top down this morning for 40 mins. Stopped to pick something up and it was tipping it down.

it cant go on like this! I hope Aug and Sept are GLORIOUS!

One love.

Pfftttt...... I often get days midwinter that are nice enough to drive with the top down........many years ago I owned a TR4A that didnt even have a roof......I used to commute 25 miles come rain or snow, we'er getting too soft :poke:

i used to drive my mx5 in the snow with the roof dow down, great memories of just really enjoying that car to the max.... sadly work and baby have killed the time to get to do mad stuff like that, BUT i did take my z4m out in the winter 2 years ago just as the snow begin to fall, it was crisp dry evening and the snow came thick and fast, roof off, heaters blasting full..... now that was a great night....

next day we were both properly sick!! lol

the silverstone rain hasn't reached us up north yet although the sky has been black since 12ish. i hate driving in the rain, the wet dog isn't a good look driving through town
