And so the end is near.....

There's a nice z4m with just shy of 25,000 miles for 20k on ebay. Not sure if that's reasonably priced but has seen very little use by the looks of it.

Now that sounds like a plan.

Won't it be some time before you can touch a G29 for 20k ?
I dunno. I have seen some for 27k.

A few questions

Which body shape do you prefer and is it by much E85 E89 G29..

Are ‘toys’ aka ‘options’ aka ‘new stuff’ ’ important to you

What’s more important certainly on costs / reliability / excitement ..

If it’s 20k and you answer those questions you may have an answer..

Buy an Audi TT and everything will be so much rosier.

I don't think you are on the right forum somehow! :headbang:

You pose a tough choice there :( if you factor yr - miles - spec & performance in the 2 seater world the twin turbo E89 has them all beat but they do have flaws :( you have had problems but i wouldn't say mechanical issues or reliability are concerns for the majority so perhaps you were unlucky or you didn't delve deep enough when you buying ( a glitzy main dealer can flatter the ego & loosen the wallet  )
Unless you crave a cutting edge in handling i would be tempted to try again only this time you should know what to look for .
They are great cars :driving:
mr wilks is right.

£20k will buy you a very good 35iS - from the right source  - and you won't find anything as well spec'd with that money.

I've done 43k miles in mine and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it all over again.

For those who have been following my saga....Next week my poor old 35is (Valencia orange, no black roof) will be shipped back to Audi and I will get my money back. After the refund, plus a few coins found down the back of the sofa I will have about 20k. If you had 20k would you buy another Z4, a different car or something else? I don't need a normal car as I already have one. :-)

I think you should buy my 14 plate mineral grey 24k mile fully loaded 35is....it’s that simple.

Just 12k miles on & no future gearbox worries with this one  https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201912295655283?postcode=bb120hr&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&sort=relevance&minimum-badge-engine-size=3.0&year-from=2013&radius=1500&make=BMW&advertising-location=at_cars&maximum-mileage=60000&model=Z4&page=1

but if it has to be the DCT here's another possible https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201911174452487?onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&postcode=bb120hr&sort=relevance&maximum-mileage=60000&radius=1500&make=BMW&year-from=2013&advertising-location=at_cars&model=Z4&minimum-badge-engine-size=3.0&page=1

you can still add your own Bmw warranty with a used car

OK, calm down.

But we tend to prefer Z4s on here. :P
