And so it begins...

It's that time of year to get cracking with getting the Zed ready for the spring. I've got a few things to do starting my my brakes!

On top of that I have a couple of big squeaks that need fixing as they're driving me nuts.

The first is the plastic trim where the roof latches into. Has anyone else take this apart? Any tips / guides on how to do it? What can I do once it is in pieces to stop the squeaking?

The second is my seat. Lower right bolster is the main issue. I'm fine taking the seat out but once out what can I do? Has anyone had a similar issue? Do I need to take it to be professionally repaired?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated. :)

How bad is the bolster?
Taking the seat out is fairly straight forward, take the backrest off once out of the car so the cover can be stripped off, loads of hog rings to take out to strip it off the foam base. Once off if the leather needs a new section then best left to a upholsterer to let a new section in. You may find that they would prefer to work on the complete seat. Whatever you do don't switch the car on with the seats disconnected or out of the car otherwise you will get an airbag light that will require clearing when the seats are back in.

Cheers bud. I've taken the seats out a few times so well aware of the airbag issue...i learnt the hard way! Sounds like it might need a professional on it. I'll try your suggestion and see how I get on, to be fair, the bolster is pretty collapsed but not the worst I've seen.

Aye, get those brakes properly sorted before you come on the first run of the year, then you can maybe eat at the same time as the rest of us :poke:

My drivers seat needs some attention, so I’ve just ordered some stuff from Furniture Clinic.
They have BMW colours, so we’ll see how that goes.

Changed the colour of some old aftermarket bucket seats, and it was less scary than I thought.
