Well i had last drive of the Zed this afternoon and now she is gone :(
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on the forum. I've really enjoyed my time here and had lots of laughs and got lots of great advice.
I'll keep an eye on things, will be doing some road trips in the future so will pop back to get some advice on places to see.
I wish everyone well and once again thanks guys :)

sorry to see you go but after seeing what you went through, I think it was just a matter of time

what are you replacing it with?

all the best anyway

Bloody hell Adam the bed still warm!

For now i will be driving a company tin can. I have always had a hankering for a porsche and for now, with a restricted budget, as i have to focus on building an extension to the house this year, i'm tempted by an old boxster. Not sure what to do yet. I've always loved the e46 convertible and may go back to one of those although i don't know how i'll feel getting into an 'old' car. I've had two from new and when you live with them you don't notice the tiredness creeping in. To get in a used one may be a bit odd now.

It's just about choosing carefully I guess - I always had new / nearly new company cars, so I know how you feel. If nothing else you now know from being on here that it's pretty easy, if not exactly bargain budget, to get a good example of a car and then make it yours very quickly. Mine feels like mine now more and more as I sort out the wee deficiencies gifted to me by previous owners. Don't get a black anything second hand unless the paintwork is perfect though  Anyway, just depends if you want to spend the time, right ? All the best, shame I never saw you round Kent

A sad day, roofless no more :(

Wish you all the very best and hope to see you continue to post

you never made 4 star status

Yeah how bad is that, another reason for hanging around and keeping an eye on things, may just creep to that magic point :)

Thanks for the comments guys. I am not looking forward to the coming weeks of being without a convertible. May be commandeering the mrs' car for a few occasions :)

I'll let you know what i end up doing.
PS
i have been looking through some of the porsche forums for info etc, none of them are a patch on the Z4 forum. Even without the recent updates this site was way ahead for ease of use and everything. Keep up the good work

Good luck mate, and a Boxster is a great idea. And remember if there is a great car out there and you don't like the colour too much, just get it wrapped. Great way to change a look of a car for a small ish outlay.....

I'm looking at Boxsters now, and they are fabulous, just scary prices!!! Loving the new interiors...
