plowy, nice one, there was a good how-to recently as well. It's a tidy update and makes the earlier cars look much better.

Great find on ebay - well done.

I just completed the entire process of obtaining a different colour front bumper, spraying and fitting, so if there is anything extra info you need just yell.

Depending on what year you are fitting to you may need to modify the lower fixing points/undertray to match the cover.

BTW - don't pay anyone to fit it. You can do it at home in an hour with some simple basic tools and if your sprayer can fill the US side markers and get rid of them do so. I think they're ugly and not needed in the UK

Thanks for the pointers guys, i have read your How to 'Jeeper and will have no problems with fitment myself, the only issue's are that 1. i think i will have to purchase the brake cooling ducts to make it look right which will involve cutting the inner wheel arch covers on each side to accomodate and 2. as there is no fog lights, suppose i'll just have to store the existing wiring out of the way. I have actually ordered the side reflectors for it, i quite like them i think, if not then what i will do is tint them very dark, my mate who has a bodyshop is not over keen on 'filling' the holes as they will inevitably crack

Yes - I think you'll need ducts to make it right but having never fitted them you're ahead of me on that.

Guess the markers are personal choice and it's a good point re filling. My spray shop friend did some sort of bumper plastic repair on surplus holes near the number plate frame on mine, but I like the idea of tinting them down.

Good luck and let's see a picturte of before and after

Great find! You got a killer deal on that bumper.

This should explaing everything

Also, you will not need to cut away the fender liner to fit the brake ducts. They will replace the fog-light access covers completely. As for the wiring harness, you can just leave that dangling in the empty space.

Thats excellent Roger many thanks, i collected the bumper today it's brand new !!, dropped off at paint shop ready Monday, all parts ordered from $tealer and should be here by mid week :D .

One other thing roger, was there any issue with the under tray lining up or is that what you mean in that you can't re use the fixings for it, if it cant be secured to the bottom edge does it remain secure ???

The undertray won't line up with the ///M front bumper, and there will be a bit of a gap as well. It's not a problem though because the bumper is quite secure being held by the fender-well clips and the engine bay bolts.

Can't wait to see the final pictures. Good luck with the installation, and keep us updated! :D

Is this just to be left as it is then ?, is the tray secure enough ??, thanks.

It's certainly not structural, but IMHO adds to the overall rigidity of the front end and I just don't like bits of plastic that can wobble. The front is secured by the 6 torx fittings across the bonnet, 4 or 5 push clips each side and a bolt/clip arrangement on each wheel arch corner, plus the clamps to the front wing and all trapped back against a polystyrene block below the grille

I'm sure much depends upon the exact year and model your going from and to, however I opted to put short stainless self tappers through existing holes in the lower lip of the cover and up into the undertray. Short bolts would do as well or if there had been any gap I would have swapped out the tray or fabbed up something to bridge the gap

One final mod you may need to consider is the number plate mount. The angle and shape changes for each front end, so you may need to adapt or buy a M specific one. You can get black ABS or smooth to spray to match

Thanks for that jeeper, i will see as i find it, my car is an 03 and the bumper is brand new so i guess an 07, i am just concerned that if the front lip of the try is left unsecured it is lible to move about at speed, as you say i may have to muster something up with some self tappers. As for the number plate mount i am going to leave this off, i have ordered a very illegal front plate of 9x3 inch and will just adhere it to the bumper with 3M or velcro, i think the plate holder spoils the lines if the bumper.

Actually mine moved from an '03 to an '06/07 so probably the same sort of issues

In terms of the mount I went to a very legal 14 x 4. Simply exploited the DVLA spec to the limit on a 5 character reg. I chopped the mount plate in half narrowed it, cut the back down and remounted. It gave me a much better look (IMHO) than flat on the cover.

I stayed legal as I've had the finger wagged at me for the E type style 'flat on the bonnet' look on my Jeeps.

Even through the undertray won't line up with the bumper, it is still fastened on by 5 or 6 screws around it's perimiter. It is quite secure, and shouldn't flop around like you're probably thinking. If the weather is decent when i get home tonight, I can try and snap a quick picture.
