Anbody taken ski's/snowboards in a Z4

Hey everybody,

Been a great help this form sofar and now I am living in Germany and the Alps are close I intend to go skiing more often. My only car is my Z4 and I would like to get some nice ski's myself instead of renting (and getting run off stuff ...).

I was wondering if anyone has experience what sort of systems are available to carry ski's on a Z4 roadster. I know there's a (expensive) OEM BMW system, but I understand they bore holes in your bootlid for that, so I'd like to get something else (or get a 2nd bootlid, one with the holes for the winter and one for summer clean 8) ) Ski's I am looking at will probably be 170 cm, so won't fit in the boot (or at least I think, I've been trying to measure the cross distances but 170 cm seems really too much ..)

I don't think any adult sized ski/snowboard will fit in the boot. A snowboard will however fit in the passenger seat! :thumbsup:

Unfortunately that's all the knowledge I have on the matter.
 
Yep, mine goes in the passenger seat... just move the roof back /up to get it in easily and make sure you put something on your freshly sharpened edges! Actually mine now has a gig bag so it fits in the bag :thumbsup:

I also reckon I could sit one sideways across my bike rack (if you search for Bike Rack is should come up)...
:!: although may act too much like an air brake and try and rip it off the back of the car.
